James Franco: Man, Is that Guy Everywhere or What? PART 1

The man of the hour, an artist, a creative mind, a mad genius, an old soul, a nut bag, and oh yeah...one fine piece of
ACE!

My moment with Mr. Franco was not about Spider-man, or Pineapple Express, The Roast of, or even Whatever It Takes, where he channeled a "mimbo" Italian guy better than Travolta ever could...
YAY!

NAY!

It was about ART.
James Franco seeks a constant fix for acquiring more knowledge and not just floating around hollywood. He chases education with the same gusto that a drunk girl searches for hope. He is always proving his passions to us as the public questions his choices. Truth be told, the man has a need to develop/advance in all aspects of art in order to quench this thirst of his.

He apparently only has 127 Hrs to do so which is why he is everywhere right now!
Fans of his know he is more than just a perfectly structured face, an adorable smile, laugh, and sense of humor that weakens my knees...He is inspiring because he is always looking to be inspired! Hence...

Allow me to backtrack...
The year was 1999, or as I nostalgically look upon it as the moment puberty struck, when I first laid eyes on this stone fox...
Daniel Desario, a freak not a geek. Here I was just 13 years old, at a crossroads of life, struggling with peer pressures and my own rebellion against adolescence, and there he was preparing me for my years to come.

He has this unmarked quality which few actors possess. It is a mix of normalcy sprinkled with a touch of unyielding vulnerability and weirdness. A complete oxymoron, which only underlines the enigma existing inside him. It somehow leads you to believe if you two were to ever meet, there is a chance you would actually hit it off. I cannot quite put my finger on it but as a francoholic it makes you jealous when you see him on screen with other women.
(*Remember Matt Damon marrying a bartender is the exception, not the rule.*)

YOU MUST FORCE YOURSELF TO BE LOGICAL AND SHAKE THIS FEELING OFF. It displays no sense of reality and I recommend you
Get Out of this Dark Place NOW!

Moving forward, I buried those unbalanced feelings deep down, and continued to grow in my devotion as he matured and developed as the renaissance artist that he is.

You know how they say everything happens in three's?????

Well....just bare with/and appease me for a moment.

First Thing:

A recent life dream of mine came true when I was able to finally visit my motherland of ITALY!

Arrivederci Ya'll!
Veni, Vidi, Vici!
Bellissimo!
Pasta Fazool!
And all that junk!

In Italy, I met a dude. Nothing serious, a true gentlemen to the core, and a wonderful experience, I can say I have been romanced and an "Eat, Pray, Love" type fantasy had been fulfilled.
(A movie with James Franco mind you...)
I know what you are thinking, keep the cliche's coming...
And I say to you, Not A Problem.
His name was Gianfranco.

Now take a good guess what an American chick from Jersey affectionately decided to refer to him as...Exactly!

James Franco.

Frolicking around Florence, I showed him off to the tour group, and collectively had officially re-named him the obvious. It was just too difficult for us as Americans to comprehend and see past the easy humor behind the delivery. (Besides I knew the name had to stick after the first intro with my peers when one individual from Queens proclaimed,
" DAM, Gianfranco...That's an Italian-ass name! "
Confused, his instinctive reaction as it was thought to be an insult, he shot back, "ASS-name!?"
Mad TV much? Evvvoynnne, Can I get your number???
Probably the most organically funny thing I ever witnessed.

Second Thing:

I was in Italy for about 3 weeks. I decided to have no connection to what was relative back home, no communication what-so-ever, email, phone, social media, nada, etc.
I really wanted to immerse myself in the culture with no distractions. I was unaware of any current events or what awaited back home.

After I returned from the trip, my jet-lag sent me into a coma for approx. 2-3 days. When I awoke and was ready to catch up to "real life" again, I turned my TV back on only to find out about
the Comedy Central: Roast of James Franco.

Bob Saget,
Flavor Flav,
William Shatner,
Charlie Sheen,
Donald Trump,
Rosanne Barr,
Joan Rivers,
Pamela Anderson????
I mean, how does Franco shine in with this motley crew??

It was a very unexpected, yet a genius choice.
And..., interestingly enough, it was not the typical roasters, but his actual friends and inner circle. Jonah Hill, Seth Rogan, Aziz Ansari, were just a few of the roasters that top my personal list of friends that exist in my head.
I love these Roasts so I couldn't wait to watch!
Up until this point, this can only be labelled as a random coincidence but exciting for any fan!

As rough as it may have been for some of the dais, poor Jonah seems like he doesn't have a mean bone in his body...it was somewhat refreshing and not as crude/vulgar...oh do not get me wrong: it certainly had it's cringe worthy/unavoidably inappropriate moments but it was not as much for the roasters to showcase themselves as shock comics but to genuinely insult each other in good fun the way true friends do. You can tell it was so effortless to rip on each other.

Third Thingy:

First week back to work from Italy, I sifted through all my emails and began to bounce back to the schedule in my calendar.
(I worked very close with/and for media outlets which allowed me to freelance opportunities at Red Carpet events, engage in celebrity interviews, and promote special projects.)

And there it was, in the midst of dozens of unread emails; ATTN: PACE GALLERY INVITES YOU...

Unknowing what exactly I was invited to or what I was about to click on, curiosity probed me to open that first.

The most beautiful Press Release ever written:

James Franco presented by Douglas Gordon

Psycho Nacirema

It was James Franco's latest art exhibition featuring multi-media installations.
Seriously, 3 Franco related scenarios in 3 weeks?
Meant.
To.
Be.

" Film is the medium that employs all art forms, but it is contained within the screen. We take this multi-form idea and pull it through the screen, so that the different forms are once again fully dimensional and a new nexus of interaction and significance in created. In this show, we go back to the original locations and images of Psycho and alter them so that once again viewer's relationship with the material changes. One becomes an actor when interacting with his work. Film becomes raw material and is sculpted into new work." - James Franco

Ugh, he is so deep, and I'm not saying that to be an a-hole, he just really revs my engine.

Anyway, this was my chance;
3 stars have aligned with one another within only a few weeks time.
The universe was trying to tell me something.
I made all the arrangements to cover the event.
( Special Thank you to Pace Gallery: Info will be below)

I refuse to harp on the details about the actual occurrence, but I will share photos, brief clips, etc.
I also will mention I did make him laugh! Shut the front door, right?
He had those eyes that when he looks at you he makes you feel like Rihanna (the only girl in the world in case you weren't picking up on
what I was putting down).

A look that penetrated through me, he managed to make me, the gal that never shuts up, go back into her turtle shell and turn into a female
Michael Cera.
At one point in mid convo, I may or may not have actually asked him to not look directly me so I can tell him a joke. And when I say may or may not have, that means I did. It is to hard for me to relive as I felt so short changed in the amount of time I had with him.
Understandably so of course, I am one of millions of Franco-addicts...

Problem lies in the fact that now I know what blue balls feels like.
Other than that, I was so lit up with joy they could have stuck me in the middle of Rockefeller Center for tourists to see. I'll never forget it.

I came home somewhat saddened though. Only because I was experiencing that feeling you have when you are looking forward to something and are so excited about something and then it's over. Even though it may have been everything I could have hoped for, when it is was over I felt like it never happened! Like it was just a dream and my alarm just went off.

Only a few days later I saw a commercial for The Mindy Project Premiere. Who do you think was guest starring???? UMMM YUP...

Then, a few days after that I was flipping through channels and what was premiering on the STARZ Network?????

OZ The Great and Powerful.... Ummm HELLO? Is this a sick joke?

Like James Franco, get off my ass, are you a stalker?
Just Kidding - I should be so lucky.
I just couldn't figure out why he was popping up in every direction of my life.
I felt like the universe was rubbing it in.

I need one more thing for a second chance to be with him. I was beginning to feel encouraged again.

The pep in my step was once more.
That is ...
until my brother rented This is the End on DEMAND one day when he was at the house and blew it for me!!!! UGH I WAS SO MAD!

"This "F***ers gotz to go!!! Gotzzz to GOOO!" - James Franco

http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=b07sactDEKU

So I am back to square one.
Convincing myself the reality of the situation may just be...
I am not meant to be with Mr. Franco, but just admire him from a distance where he can remain safe behind his written words, big screens, and artistic expressions. WOMP, WOMP.

These were not signs at all but the result of a hard-working, creative,  individual that just happened to be in a lot of well publicized roles in 2013.
YUP.

A special Thank you to Pace Gallery for showing support and taking care of all the arrangements.

Fallen 90's Sitcoms Vs Modern Family Values

Sometimes I really wonder what has transpired that made the world go mad.
People are so butt backwards from everything I thought I  knew.
First off, say whatever you want to say to me, but I believe 90’s television helped to
shape the good in people.

Full House, Saved By the Bell, Family Matters, etc, you knew 22 minutes in the
music would start to play and the lesson was coming.
It certainly was not a perfect world as they “tried” to cover serious topics, but
the level of morality was still there!

Not like today, where we thrive on scandal, lies, secrets, surprises,
and pretty little liar type fanfare, etc. We need to be shocked to be
entertained. This impressions come at us in every direction.
It is like we make the asshole, the hero.
We praise "Charlie Sheen" like behavior because
we think it is cool that he gets away with being a douche.

Does anyone else see what is wrong with this picture???

I refer to it affectionately as Scott Disick Disorder…
and I only use it affectionately because it tickles me pink that he is the thorn in
the Kardashian side and not budging, but that is another rant all together.
How is selfishness, greed, and cockiness attributes to want to emulate?
I am at a loss of flabbergastation
( I am aware that is not a real word but I figure, everyone else makes up their own rules, so will I)!

Everyone believes they are entitled.
No one knows how to handle criticism or reality in its simplest of terms.
All day I read Facebook posts of people boasting about
how they are on the work grind, thanking themselves for their baller status, convincing themselves that they have earned this right as a “ hustling club promoter ” to do so
and belittle the less fortunate.
Come on now, I am not bad mouthing those that make a living that way, because all work is hard work, And in 2013, people do what they need to do what they need to do to build a life…

but can we all show a little compassion and be humble about
the hard work we put in that allows us to achieve whatever definition of success we have.

Success…which again is another relative term thrown around-
Guys posting pictures of their high-end lux items, or their weekly meal plan of grilled chicken /veggies…???
WE GET IT! !!!
You can buy expensive things and really care about having abs…Priorities at its finest.
Will you father my children now?  OR at the very least read a book!
THANKS.
Again(NOT HATING), I praise people who have discipline, goals, and standards…
but that is not a case of those conditions.

This is, “My ego is huge! I am the best! I work the hardest! I am so hot!
God spent more time creating me! And people should be so lucky to know me...Yada, Yada, Yada!”
 Well…
Someone needs to tell them, they are a YAMBAG.
The focus goes no deeper than the surface articifical tan on their skin.
They do not share posts or world issues, causes, nor do they care to educate themselves on anything
that goes beyond their own bubble.
But they sure do know a lot about presidential elections...( Imagine my eyes rolling so far to the back of my head in sarcasm right now, I almost was victim to a self enduced seizure)
Get off it, I work hard, I’m no mutant, but
you don’t see me with a surprised look on my face in front of a web cam (Girls ain’t getting off that easy lol).

I remember growing up although my parents instilled a tremendous amount of esteem and confidence, they always made me aware that I wasn’t the best. There is always someone better and that shouldn’t be a bad thing. It is NOT a put down. It is the truth which is why I don’t experience dramatic disappointment when someone else is “winning”. They made me understand a very distinct difference between right and wrong.
They raised me with the very simple credo of "Treat others as you would like to be treated".
Sounds simple, not in 2013.
I developed the ability to put myself entirely in someone else's perspective. Be thankful for the blessings my way and knowing life can change is seconds and how to carry my faith and beliefs in my heart.

Point is, when did we lose are values and our true connection with each other? Was it technology? Was it Social Media? Was it TV and infatuation of characters and story rather than real people? What made us unable to live simply? To take care of each other. I am legit jealous of my parents who grew up with nothing vs. our world who has unlimited access.
I rack my brain about this everyday wondering why I feel alone, can’t fit in, or relate. Empathy has just been removed. I don’t know if people need to hit a low point in order to acknowledge what a spec they really are- But that is a sad realization to face.
I know what it is like to fail, or loose things, and I also understand that rising up was not a solo job.
It was NOT just me, I am NOT that wonderful, and I am NOT the best out there at what I do.

My family, my friends, my faith, my passion, my values, those are the things that support me as I struggle and not thrive. I choose to make those things my life investments as I move forward because that is the only reality I know. And if I am going to brag about something, it is exactly that!

I want to connect and help people understand that even when I’m doing well,
I still live in constant fear and anxiousness.
I want people to know that sometimes you bust your ass and it still does not go in your favor, and it does not mean that because you have not acquired certain things that you are a failure OR that you are not as hard of a worker as JCiroq20 spinning the 1’s and 2’s, that has a nice body, drives a Beamer, and is 34 years old with a ridiculous haircut. You are actually better. You make yourself better the moment you understand where your
strength, values, and priorities are.
I'm not even telling you to not watch the crap that entertains us- But please for the love of God
be smart enough for it to influence and infiltrate you.
I watched Flavor of Love at some point of my life, you do not see me going after Vikings or Giant Clock Makers...
In it's easiest form:
In the 90’s a John Cryer type was the character to hold on a pedestal, not Charlie Sheen.

Giuliana and Bill Rancic - Love, Inspire, Strength, & Family

LiveOutNJ’s Jessica Schirripa was lucky enough to catch up with E! and Style Network’s Giuliana and Bill Rancic at a very intimate Meridian Healthcare “Paint the Town Pink event, Saturday 5/4 in Manasquan, NJ. LiveOutNJ brings you nothing but the best with their debut A-List encounter!

LiveOutNJ and myself, could not feel more privileged than to get the exclusive scoop with Giuliana and Bill! Giuliana gave us details on what being a new mom is like to Duke, with Bill at her side being a supportive husband. It was truly inspiring to hear them both speak of their new chapter! They were so easy to relate to and it was an honor to meet them.” - Jessica Schirripa

Who better to speak with than a woman who has been through it all. With many years in the spotlight, Giuliana has learned how to juggle her professional career, public struggles with fertility and breast cancer, and beginning her adventure as a new mom, finding the balance of it all.

“Duke saved my life!” Giuliana declared.
“How is she ever going to punish this kid? He is going to have that on her forever and always,” joked Bill.

In 2011, Rancic had announced she was diagnosed with breast cancer. This was discovered after beginning fertility treatments to conceive a child in 2009 and suffering several miscarriages. Confused and uncertain, a mammogram was performed then detecting the cancer. If one thing had not lead to another, outcomes could very well have been different. After radiation treatments, undergoing surgeries, and the precautions taken to conceive via surrogate, they welcomed Duke!

Giuliana and Bill shared their experiences in great detail. They spoke fondly of the importance of the respect and support they have for one another. Their evident connection speaks volumes and cannot be denied when you see how well they compliment each other. An absolute charming and a beautiful couple, they are on a mission to spread awareness and share their strength with others.

Giuliana stresses throughout the evening, how you have to keep living. The moments where you feel uncontrollable despair, are the moments you make a choice. You choose to keep living and not be brought down, as a woman, as a wife, and a mother!

Giuliana and Bill’s story, which has aired out extremely public, has been a true blessing in disguise! They throw their support to endless causes and use their celebrity to help encourage and inspire those around them.

PLEASE CHECK OUT THIS VIDEO OF PART OF THEIR INTERVIEW- TAKE NOTICE TO THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION QUOTE AND MY WILDLY INAPPROPRIATE SHOUTOUT!
OH WELL, BILL GIVES ME SOME STREET CRED! XOXO

MY COUSIN VINNY: A MEAL FROM VINCENT

In memory of my 24 yr old cousin, Vincent DeAngelo.

Although years and distance kept us a part for much of our adolescent youth, Vinny has left an imprint on me that I think about every single day of my life. We were very close in age which is a realization that hits very close to home. After his passing, I read every comment people wrote on his Facebook Page, I looked through every picture I had from when we were small... there is a light in his smile that can change any ones bad day. He was a hero all the way through. People just gravitated to him and had every reason to.

I remember the very last time our entire family reunited for a day of debauchery. I will remember it always. We went to Atlantic City, started the day off just right, Harrah's Pool for some day drinking...(We are no strangers to some day time shots) We just did nothing but laugh all day with each other. The dynamic of us revolves around fun and love, and strength, and hope. I wish that day lasted forever. It was way too short. In my heart, I didn't believe that would be the last day I would ever get to spend with him. He was so happy and we were all so happy. I would have held on longer, a little tighter, and never let the party end.

There are things in life that are not fair. Things we cannot control. We look for reasons to blame everything we can in order to make sense of it. We choose to move forward and take all the love he left us and turn it into something special.

Cathy DeAngelo, has begun "A Meal From Vincent". Through this foundation, she not only keeps the memory of her son alive, but she carries out a plan to brighten up someones day in his honor. He was that kind of a person. There was no ray of light to dim. Light is light. That is the beauty of this program. It seems like such a small gesture, but you have no idea the lasting effects of making someone smile. Please read below as she tells the legacy he will be.

"As a lot of you know Vincent lost his 3 year battle with leukemia on April 13, 2012. He fought this battle long and hard. He was very brave and he was my hero.He had a stem cell transplant at Moffitt Cancer Center in Tampa, Florida and went through a clinical trial at MD Anderson Hospital in Texas. He spent most of his battle at Memorial West Hospital in Pembroke Pines, Florida. This truly was his "home away from home".

The oncology staff, nurses and doctors took such great care of him making him feel like he was their family. I can never thank them enough for this.He spent days, weeks, and months inside hospitals and always had a wonderful attitude. But my son had one complaint, Hospital Food. It's hard to eat hospital food day after day. Whenever he was having a bad day or didn't like anything on the menu or just needed a treat, I would go to get food from any of the outside food places near the hospital.

I was fortunate that I could provide this for him. Just the smell of the outside food would put a smile on his face and for a brief time he would forget that he was in the hospital and he would enjoy his meal.Unfortunately being treated for cancer puts a difficult financial strain on many patients. Most of them can't work and have many bills to pay and simply cannot afford to to get a meal from outside.

In Vincent's memory I would like to donate as many food gift cards to these cancer patients and I want them to get a treat away from hospital food. I know in my heart that Vincent would want us to do this. It will be called "A Meal From Vincent"
